Skeleton you are my friend

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

As the time has arrived to start sorting out portfolios for university interviews, I have being looking over alot of my old college work. For my last project of the first year of my current course we had a 3D design brief based on the Human form. I initially researched into this but then also began to incorporate my own thoughts and ideas, such as looking into the Mexican holiday "Day of the Dead".

(This guy!)

I also researched the work of Lyndie Dourthe which provided some really interesting inspiration. Her colour and material choices are simply stunning! I really like her incorporation of the skeleton and human form...

Here's some of my development, experimentation, research and design work...

And finally here is part of my final piece. Using mainly recycled book pages and a wax trapping technique, I decided to create a series of accessories.

Bundles of love,
