Pretty in Pink

Friday, October 18, 2013

I've been meaning to write up an outfit post for a while now and have desperately wanted to show quite possibly my favourite purchase of the year(drama). I somehow stumbled upon my pink PVC skirt whilst in the Trafford centre Topshop, hidden towards the back. I instantly fell for it, not realising that by the following week it would be such a statement piece at the front of every store that everyone would be after. I have never been so happy to buy something before my size went out of stock, like an extremely chirpy modern day Andie... or Babe the pig or something...

Andie not looking so chirpy

Here I paired it with a Topshop dark floral shirt that I purchased the week before and a Vivienne Westwood bracelet I received as a gift with such a gorgeous vintage feel. I really love this hints of green with the lovely pastel shade.

A few weeks later the Topshop newsletter posted about the skirt as such a statement piece, showing the variety of ways it could be worn.

I was particularly happy when they posted a look similar to my own featuring the dark florals, it showed a great way to dress the look up more and a way to edit mine as it was kept very casual for daywear. The mixture of texture in the image above is very striking for me as mixing and layering contrasting textures is something I am very interested in at the moment, also working with and wearing unusual materials but more on that later...

Bundles of love,
