I got a little bit longer

So my overlocker arrived!! (And it is beautiful!) After testing it out and having a play around (like it was Christmas day and I was about 8) I got way too excited and decided to unpick my almost finished tartan skirt just so I could start all over again with my new baby! I really love the final outcome, the fabric was extremely easy to work with and (although it's something I wouldn't usually go for) I'm completely obsessed with the colours in the tartan. The skirt is a lot more high waisted than I expected from the pattern I created, but I think that was the result of a few waistband issues. Overall I'm really happy with it and couldn't wait to test it out whilst out for food. Now I'm starting my boxy crop tee for a co-ord piece.







My sewing bug continued as I ordered a few vogue patterns online, starting off with a wrap around coat. I do prefer creating my own patterns and have only followed a pattern once before, but I have found it interesting… as well as a pain at times! From my first pattern I went for coat B (below), I love the oversized collar and overall shape of it. I needed some double sided fabric for my garment to work, which was a struggle to find… but I finally came across some dogtooth in my local Abakhan. The fabric was quite heavy and tough to cut but working it through the overlocker was a dream, now finished I am very happy with my new coat and received a few compliments. Now with some of my leftover pieces and scraps I'm going to attempt a skirt… we'll see how it goes...









A tiny ootd post as I've been too busy to post for a while. I returned to bingo with my knitting (19 going on 90…), I wore a Topshop halloween print shirt I got in the sale. I really love the print, it kind of reminded me of my own illustrated digital print I created in my final major project at college.  




Although I've been super busy I have tried to keep up with my knitting, considering starting a garment with some chunky wool… 


but right now I just feel like Tigger the cat…
