Graduate Fashion Week Part one: The showMonday, August 25, 2014
I made my first trip of this year down to London for Graduate Fashion Week 2014 and the Manchester School of Art catwalk show. It was also my first time attending GFW, such a perfect location set at the Old Truman Brewery of Brick Lane (complete with some great vintage stores to post later and lots of getting lost in Shoreditch). A few of my own pictures and clips below from the catwalk, definitely do not do the garments and designers any justice due to me being extremely unprepared that day (With the worst case of tonsillitis desperate to beat me… which it later did.) One of my favourite collections of the show (the designer later went on to nab the Creative Catwalk Award for this year) was the work of Camilla Grimes. I just love the sportswear feel to the pieces, combined with the intricate details of embroidery and textiles techniques, and of course the cats. Some of the most innovative, creative and lets face it, just down right fun new and upcoming designers are oozing out of the UK right now, which you can easily see from the shows and exhibitions of Graduate Fashion Week 2014.
A quick attempt to put a few video clips I took together(first time using iMovie - don't judge me.) The first showing the work of Camilla Grimes, the second showing a quick round up of my favourites from the show. More to come soon,
Bundles of love,
